Udo-Jingu

A shrine that stands in rough and angry waves

Udo Jingu (Udo Shrine)

Where a legendary story was originated, the red honden (main building) of Udo Jingu is built in a cave facing Hyuga nada (sea of Hyuga). If you can through the lucky ball in a square hole in the rock called Kame ishi (turtle rock) (men using left hands and women using right hands) as you make a wish, it is believed that your wish will come true.

Kirishima Factory Garden

This is a facility which is directly operated by Kirishima Shuzou. Sakamoto Jozo (vinegar brewery)

Black vinegar is produced by only using three ingredients, steamed rice, malted rice and ground water. Such traditional production method has been handed down, generation after generation, for 200 years until today. Visitors can first visit the Tsubo batake and information center to get to know the production method and history of Sakamoto Kurozu (black vinegar). Thereafter, enjoy the taste of Kurozu lunch at the restaurant.
