Kirishima Factory Garden

This is a facility which is directly operated by Kirishima Shuzou. Inside, there includes “Kirinokura Brewery” where beer brewery and restaurant are unified, “Kirinokura Bakery” where the very famous distilled spirit breads are sold, etc. You can also visit the actual sweet potato shochu (distilled spirit) factory and observe the making process of shochu (reservation required).

Sakamoto Jozo (vinegar brewery)

Black vinegar is produced by only using three ingredients, steamed rice, malted rice and ground water. Such traditional production method has been handed down, generation after generation, for 200 years until today. Visitors can first visit the Tsubo batake and information center to get to know the production method and history of Sakamoto Kurozu (black vinegar). Thereafter, enjoy the taste of Kurozu lunch at the restaurant.

Kirishima Jingu (Kirishima Shrine)

On the street that leads to Kirishima Jingu, there is a small museum where exhibits various kinds of masks. Here, about 1,800 kinds of masks including masks of Tengu (long nose goblins) of Japan and from all over the world, Nho masks, monster masks are displayed.
