Kenrokuen Garden

Kenrokuen Garden, Kairakuen Garden in Mito and Korakuen Garden in Okayama are the three great gardens of Japan. Family who ruled Kaga Domain that continues from generation to generation spent enormous time making this garden. The view most represents Kenrokuen Garden is the “kotoji toro (kotoji lantern)”. Different flowers bloom through out the year according to four seasons. You can enjoy different sceneries of cherry blossoms, fresh green leaves, autumn color leaves, snow covered trees, etc.

Takaoka-Kojo-Park

A well-know cherry blossom viewing point, also serving as an oasis for people in the community

Takaoka Kojo Park

This park is located near the city center and is the remain of Takaoka Castle which was founded by Toshinaga Maeda, the second lord of Kaga Domain. This castle was opened to the public in the Meiji Period. Every year, from the beginning to mid April, 1,800 cherry blossom trees, mainly Someiyoshino cherry blossom trees, come to their full bloom. During this period, the park becomes very festive attracting tourists and local people come see the cherry blossoms.
