Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry Technology

This museum indeed is the museum of Toyota Group. The red brick building was built in the Taisho Period (1912 to 1026). This museum was recognized as an industrial heritage to be preserved and utilized. Inside the museum, there exhibits the actual machines and demonstration is given on how to operate the machines. Further, the museum introduces the history and transition of textile machinery industry and automobile industrial technology. You can also go on a vehicle which was specifically designed to learn about the principle of machine operation. Admission fee is 500 yen.

Nagoya Castle was originally founded by the order of Ieyasu TOKUGAWA in 17th year of Keicho (1612). Unfortunately, the original castle tower, Shachihoko statues and Honmaru goten (main quarters) were destroyed during the World War II. Admission fee to the castle is 500 yen.

This museum exhibits the cutting edge science technology, including “Brother Earth” which is the world largest planetarium (35m in diameter). Setogura-Museum

To promote the history and culture of Setoyaki (Seto pottery)

Setogura Museum

Setogura museum is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the multi purpose facility “Setogura”. This museum features the 20th century Seto and also exhibits the coal kiln and chimney. You can also see a great panoramic exhibition on 1000-year history of Seto pottery and its transition. Admission fee is 500 yen. (The first floor of Setogura museum has a shop that sells Seto pottery and a restaurant.)

Kamagaki-no-Komichi

Take a walk on a nostalgic path

Kamigaki no Komichi

This path is about 400m long, the walls of the both sides are made of pottery tools and etc. On the path, there is the Kamagaki no Komichi Museum that uses the kilm which was actually used at the beginning of Meiji Period. Inside, you can see the bath room and toilet using “Hongyo tile” which is the first of Japanese tiles. The museum also includes gallery and café. Admission is free.

Korankei

The best viewing point of autumn color leaves in Aichi prefecture

Korankei

Korankei is located in the Aichi Kogen National Park and is a small canyon formed by the Tomoe River. This is a popular viewing spot of autumn color leaves in Aichi prefecture. Every year, from mid November to beginning of December is the best season to view the leaves. The path leading to Kojyakuji Temple located between Tomoe bridge and Taigetsukyo bridge is the best place for viewing the leaves. Every year from November 1 through December 1, Autumn Leaf Festival takes place. If you have a chance, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a festive atmosphere under autumn color leaves.

Sanshu Asuke Yashiki

This is an outdoor museum that exhibits the actual old Japanese traditional residence including thatched roof houses featuring the old traditional scenes of Japanese country side. The museum offers various handcraft experience classes such as indigo dyeing (600 yen), textile weaving (900 yen), staw weaving (1,500 yen), etc. that you can choose from. These handcrafts are handed down from the old times, generation after generation. Admission fee is 300 yen.
